This is my second attempt at creating a portrait. This image worked better and thus the stencil looks much better too.
My students and I are creating really cool spray painted stencil portraits and this was my first attempt at an example. We are using Montana spray paint, which while expensive it is truly amazing how pigment heavy and nice the paint is. Here we are spraying on white paper with metallic silver and dark gray. This is my boss by the way and he doesn’t know that I’m making this image of him, so don’t tell and hopefully he won’t see this.
I created a screen printed pattern of my signature and printed it on to a bandanna for each of my advisee’s. Here is a bit of that process. I screwed up a couple of times, but I’m sure no one will notice the small stuff. The one image of the double print I decided to continue to print over and over again. This essentially became my bandanna as it was the most different. The students really seemed to like them, which was nice.
Despite the lack of posting in May, I actually did a lot of cool stuff. I’m now in the process of retroactively posting, so keep an eye out.
